About Animals at Home (Leicestershire) Ltd.
Hi my name is Shaun and I am married to Trish and we are the franchisees for Animals at Home Leicestershire. We have two Children Abi and Patrick and a Sprollie (Springer Spaniel x Border Collie) called Mollie as well as hamsters.
I have always loved animals and have had dogs all of my life, all of which have been Collies or Collie crosses, whilst Trish has owned cats, dogs, hamsters and tropical fish. In the past she has also had the pleasure of caring for two lizards on loan to a school which she was working at.
As a teenager I was well known for being an animal lover and local residents would often bring me sick and injured wild animals. I would try to nurse them back to health however this was not very successful due to the stress of being in captivity.
My wife Trish is a Staff Nurse who works at a local hospital caring for patients with cancer and helps me out occasionally on her days off. I have done many jobs in the past which include spending several years in the Royal Navy as a Submariner. I have left a job working for East Midlands Ambulance Service to set up Animals at Home Leicestershire. With both Trish and I working shifts life was quite stressful and I still wished to fulfil a childhood ambition which was to work with animals (I wanted to work for the RSPCA as a child). Animals at Home have provided me with the opportunity to combine my passion for animals whilst giving professional care.
We are fully insured, CRB checked and have undergone training in animal handling, spending three days at a veterinary practise so that you have piece of mind that your pets are in safe hands.
Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or enquires you may have.
